After the recent launch of Poco F1 smartphone in India, Xiaomi is ready to introduce the Redmi 6-series smartphone in India in the coming week. These smartphones comprise the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and the Redmi 6 Pro. On the other hand, Xiaomi has also started working on the Redmi Note 6 Pro, the successor to wildly successful Redmi Note 5 Pro. Chipset rumors about the Redmi Note 6 Pro have surfaced.
According to a column in Weibo, the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India will be backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with an octa-core CPU. It will come with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and will have a variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is no sign of the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant, but because it was launched in India last year, the variant could be expected this year too. If actually, the Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 660 SoC, it will be a solid upgrade as the Redmi Note 5 Pro was powered by budget SoC which is Snapdragon 636 SoC. The Redmi Note 6 Pro is also expected to come with a notch and a display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. In the imaging department, the smartphone comes with a dual shooter at the back with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, there is a 20-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. With 4,000mAh large battery to keep the phone juiced up, the smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box.
